Primary Selection Guideline

Please read the “Event Outline” and “General Guideline” pages before entry.
To enter Primary Selection, please submit “Application Form for Primary Selection” page, provided only during “application form acceptance” period.
It’s not allowed to enter only the Allied Arts category.

Your information – name and address, etc. on “Application Form for Primary Selection” page
Sound files of recorded whistling sample: Upload your sound files to online storage service and fill in the link (URL) on “Application Form for Primary Selection” page.

Record yourself whistling both Classical and Popular songs. The file format should be mp3 or m4a.
Classical: 2 – 5 minutes; Popular: 2 – 4 minutes; Allied Arts: max. 4 minutes. Overtime will be ignored in the scoring.
Judging will be blind. Therefore, in Classical and Popular files, do not include your name in the file name, and do not record narration (speaking) with your name or song name.
To enter Allied Arts, submit a movie file (or sound file if your performance does not include any action). The format of file should be mp4 or m4v or mov.
Movie should be exactly the same members and performance as the Final as much as you can.
The limit of a sound file is about 10 MB for each songs and movie file about 100 MB.
Keep your sound and movie files on online storage service until receiving the result of Primary Selection. It can be deleted after that.

Choose online storage service that is easy to access – that do not require passwords, and that just open with the URL.
Please refer to “How to upload your files to Dropbox” section. A good example of online storage service is “Dropbox”.
YouTube will be allowed only for Allied Arts, don’t use password.
We cannot provide support on how to use online storage service

Primary Selection fee is 2,000 yen (under 20 years old, 1,500 yen).
Pay the fee via PayPal or Bank deposit (domestic only in Japan) by the fixed date (Dec 27th) that will be provided after entry.
We will not be able to return your fee if you cancel your entry.
After your entry is received, you will receive further details by email.

We will send you the Primary Selection results after the audition. We will not be able to provide any information other than results.
Your personal information will not be used outside this event and to provide information for our future events (if you wish to receive it).
